Hi, I’m Laura – a trauma-informed psychotherapist supporting individuals and couples across Ontario. I help people who grew up without emotional safety reconnect with themselves, their bodies, and their relationships in a way that finally feels real and sustainable.

My clients are often the ones who’ve always kept it together – the people-pleasers, the overthinkers, the caregivers. The ones others lean on, admire, or depend on. On the outside, they seem calm, capable, even thriving.

But inside, it’s a different story: constant self-monitoring, a mind that never shuts off, emotional exhaustion, and a quiet shame that whispers, “You’re too much… or not enough.”

They’ve spent years trying to be who they thought they should be – but underneath it all is a longing to feel seen, supported, and safe enough to just be.

My approach: Slow, relational, and nervous system-informed

Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes or pushing through. It’s about slowing down enough to feel safe being with what’s true – the stories, patterns, sensations, and emotions that live in your body and shape how you show up in the world.

I blend talk therapy with body-based tools, emotional processing, and trauma-informed practices that honour your nervous system. Together, we’ll explore the deeper roots of what’s going on – from self-abandonment and identity confusion to attachment wounds and relational pain – and gently begin to shift how you relate to yourself and others.

Why I Started Existence Therapy

I created Existence Therapy for the version of me who needed it most.
This work is personal. I know what it’s like to carry shame, self-doubt, and the ache of never quite feeling “enough.” I know what it’s like to be the one who holds space for everyone else, while silently wondering who’s
holding space for you.

Existence Therapy is for the parts of us that often go unseen – the child who had to grow up too fast, who never felt truly known or safe to just be. The teenager who turned to coping strategies that didn’t always make sense to others, but were rooted in a deep craving for acceptance. The adult who overfunctions, overgives, and seems “fine” on the outside – while quietly struggling inside.

I wanted to create something more honest, embodied, and emotionally attuned than traditional talk therapy alone. A space where clients don’t have to perform or shrink themselves to be supported. A space that holds complexity with care – where your nervous system is honoured, your emotions are welcomed, and your story is met with compassion.
